I dropped out of school at 16 to pursue a career in graphic design, and was fortunate enough to have trained under two classic illustrators in South Florida (Walter Storozuk and Will Eisner) soon after enrolling for a cartoon workshop that Walter was running.
I spent several years working on small projects for various comic book publishers, independent animation and game studios, and entertainment websites until I fell into a full time Creative Director gig about five years ago.
Since the first day that TFC was released, I've been addicted to the franchise. Having never played QTF, I was blown away by the cooperative gameplay dynamics and my creative juices started flowing. Around 2000, I wrote an outline for what would become a story that I recently adapted to fit within the TF2Universe. I'm hoping that, by December of this year, I'll have the first eight-page chapter of the story completely drawn, inked, and colored.
Dubbed "TF2: Respawn", it's essentially the origin of the respawn room. Who created it, how, and why. It will also show why there are duplicates of every character class - and what their lives might have been like, before all hell broke loose. The story's really good, and I know you guys are going to love it. From beginning to end, it's everything I would have wanted to see in a Team Fortress 2 comic book/movie. I just hope my artwork can hold up... I'm a bit rusty, and if I can get back into the groove, it would be nice to parlay this into something more... substantial and official.
The "reality" of the comic will be supported by a few sites I've been developing... one of which is www.reliableexcavationdemolition.com.
