It's L from Death Note. That is his "thinking position". Most fans believe he has Asperger's Syndrome, due to the fact that he may act like a child, i.e, not wearing shoes unless going outside, only wears those clothes, eats lots of sweets, and holds everything delicately.

He is the number one detective in the world in that series, so if he's a pure genius, then he won't be interesting without some kind of strange behavior or mystery behind him, mainly the way he acts.

He's a very calm person and observant, that's what makes him interesting in the series. Here's some lulz.
