I started playing games at the age of four when I found the Sega Megadrive (or Genesis, to Yanks) my Dad had hidden from me for so long.
My first real game was Final Fantasy VII for the PS1 and it's still my favourite game of all time today. It was around this time I played Metal Gear Solid too, but I was far too young to get it.
I got a PS2 on it's release year for Christmas but, although most of my time was devoted to playing games, I wouldn't have really described myself as a proper gamer yet. I got into the Ace Combat series around this time.
As the 360 was released, I found myself getting into PC games rather than following the trend. I had a terrible PC though so was playing Half-Life 2 on medium settings and older games like Rainbow Six 3. This was when I became a proper gamer and really began to understand how games work, in a programming, texturing, modelling, animating ect sense.
I did buy a 360 eventually though, as I was too poor to carry on PC gaming properly. I had fun on the 360, mainly playing online with my console-tard friends. I still played the occasional bit of Garry's Mod or whatever on PC, but I had pretty much left it behind.
And then I came into some money so what did I do? Buy a £700 PC of course! And that brings us happily to today.
