Your opinion doesn't come into rule when it comes to assessing your submission.

That's like saying that if I submit a skin that is no more but an mspaint tri-color slapped onto a gun and refusing any assessment less then 10 is fine.

I don't understand your logic at all.

You need to listen to me.

ASSESSMENTS ARE BASED OFF OF OPINIONS.
Yes, your work is also assessed based off the work you put into it, but seeing as how you didn't make your submission, that's ruled out of the question.

Now, if you would please quote me from when I stated that I have "made it clear that [I am not] capable of actual constructive criticism". I gave you my criticism for the submission that you didn't even create, now you can either take it, or just get gagged for refusing assessments.

Either way, it doesn't effect me.

(Oh and by the way, I wasn't trying to "get away from [the argument] that easily", I was just saying that this argument won't stop and will lead into a gag (for you) if you don't stop. It's a clear warning.

Oh but i do. If you find it too small, go find another, larger compile of the same gun. It's your opinion that it's too small, i say it's not. It's not a desert eagle, but a Colt based pistol. As for the textures, if you don't like the particular style, get the one with a normal texture instead.

My point is, you don't have to like it, but if the very premise of the model puts you off, don't use it, but don't assess it either, some people like the thing for the reasons you hate it for. You have to take that into account.


If all your going to do is complain, then you mine as well just stop messaging me back because it won't do anything but end in an argument.

I stated that I thought it was too small, but maybe I didn't assess the skin for that reason, maybe it was the fact that the texture quality IS VERY BAD, which is why I gave it a 6. And yes, it's MY OPINION, which leads to why I gave it a 6 for MY ASSESSMENT. You have to win the crowd over as a whole, not just the people who like it.

You obviously don't understand the reason for an assessment.

You assess for what you think it should get.

I gave you my reasons, I gave you my assessment, and then you reject it because you don't agree with me.

Your skin will now be reported to an admin for improper use of the rejections of assessments without a proper reason.

...that and I'm not so much angry at you as I'm worried what kind of precedent this sort of thing could lead to. Deletions I'm fine with, but transferring subs this way could cause a disaster if everyone starts doing it. Imagine someone submits something and as soon as it does good, someone goes to Tom and states your case as a precedent for him turning over the sub. It would be anarchy and Tom would have little basis for turning the request down without looking like he did something special for you and accused of playing favorites. I'm just saying that it could get ugly. I worry about the site Dark, I've put so much time and effort into this place and I would hate to see it fail over something that wasn't thought through. But talk to us man, ask us what we can do to make things better for you here, thats what the community is supposed to be for, because if we can't at least do that, then we might as well close right now.

Dark, all of my stuff is here, most of it exists nowhere else, so when it disappears, it's just gone. I've lost half the subs I've worked on because I pushed for this site to give control over to the people who had a hand in their creations. Do you remember that fiasco? I trashed my own reputation here to ensure that people like you could come here and decide what stays and what goes, but instead, its been used as a tool for aggression and retribution more often than not. If I took anything the wrong way, you have yourself to blame for it, they were your words man, not mine and if you wanted my subs, all you ever had to do was come and ask me, ME, and I would have gladly handed them over, but you couldn't even give me that much respect. So many of the compilers and so called re-colorers here worship the freaking ground that you and other modelers and skinners walk on and they try so hard to be like you, to create something new, even if its by rehashing whats out there, they can at least say they had a hand in it and so many of your peers just crap on them for no damned reason. Sure there are those that steal work, that will never stop no matter what we do I'm afraid, but that should not be reflected in every kid that just wants to express a little creativity even if he has no original talent. Dark, I know you are a reasonable guy, we've never had an issue that I can remember in all the years I've shared a board with you, all I'm asking is don't hurt the little guys for something they didn't do, take a step above it all and be the great guy you've always shown yourself to be.
