Author's Readme/Notes:
This is my first map using Hammer Editor. Looking back, I probably wouldn't have started the project if I was aware of the full length of work ahead. In my ignorance, i tackled a pretty big project.
This is a 5 point CP taking some ideas from the Orange maps. To be clear though, this is nothing like orange. The towers around points, however, is very evident.
This level is balanced to allow snipers to hit anything, anyone to sneak around and kill them, and for demo's to superman to anywhere on the map...all with some mayhem on the points.
Visually this level is placed in the middle of a dense city with buildings all around, in what resembles a inner city cement park. The objective is simple: capture all 5 points.
Have fun!
Edit (aug 7th 2008): Jeez, i guess it isn't over until the fat lady sings, no? My clan gave me so many more ideas, and after a good 2 nights of hardcore play testing, I'm releasing a new build. This design changes the entire ground maze and does a lot more to promote classes like heavy/pyro/engineer. It has also been polished more with lots more fun stuff around the map.
Also, there is now a secret entrance to reach the area above the spawns. Inside there are some health packs, but no way to shoot out or take advantage of game play. Nonetheless it is fun to get into, and lets face it, bragging rights are more important in the end. The 2nd spray to the left of the alpha omega logo is the guide. Demo jump to the top of the map exactly along that spot. It isn't easy to get in, so don't expect to get it on the 1st (dozen) try. :)
This revision is the last I believe. I've been given the green by everyone who has played it, and have seen how well it promotes balance. So yes, Play it, Enjoy and have fun!
Edit (aug 5th 2008): Version 2.0 is released! I absolutely positively can't find anything else to add to this map. I've incorporated a lot of player ideas into this new version and it should be fairly entertaining. This version also includes a handful of funny eye candy for anyone who goes looking for it.
I consider this the final version of this map, so please tell me what you think!
Edit(aug 3rd 2008): after a few clan runs of this level, I'm going to be making a few revisions. This current version is now being bumped back into beta. Expect a final version fairly soon! |
