Hi all!
I made this map initially for pleasure, but after I understood that it should be interesting for all the fps community. So I published it hoping it will be played by someone else.
This is a final release, but I will never stop to improve it! Listening to your comments I would like to make it better!
Please try it and send me any opinion! It would be very precious to me.

Like it, I am looking for a map like this for my base office in my comic book editions, based on the AFP - ASIO. ASIO is Australian version of CIA, however there are 5 departments within ASIO Federal Police is just one. Anyhow what i am looking for as I don't have the talent is a map like this or a edited version of this map. I like it better than office2008pro. So if I could get a copy edited of this map for my pros and stage for my comic books, I will credit the maker in every version with a hot link to the web site of his/her choice. My comic books are sofware based and can have internet links within. My books look like and act like real books, so you get a software based comic book. As i give them away and make no money on my books, I don't have the funds to pay you for a version of this map. But if this changes in the future, we can arrange a share in the books.
Any how... What I was hoping for.....
This map without any furniture at all, totaly empty. Also a daylight version of the same. And the undercover carpark part sectioned of as holding cells for the bad guys. removal of the tanks at the ends of map and the police tape crossing the roads, as its not for gaming, just photo shoots for the comic book. Also no dead bodies or blood, nor bullet holes in doors. Leave the boardroom table and projector room as is, Leave the vending machines as is as long as they stand up right and in position. ANd if some signs could be added I can supply images of this. Oh removel of car and trucks from front of biulding.

About the "sink": the office are clean and the sink model you used are rusty, and old. It will fit in a abandoned mental hospital or prison but are out of place here.

Ambience: This is one of the many weak points in the map (sorry), the rain sound is tremendously loud, and gets very frustrating especially when you're not even outside you still hear it really loud (this can be fixed by making a custom soundscape with a loud rain sound outside, a quieter one half-way inside, and a low muffled one inside, for your consideration).

Design: This is a rather stronger point, I really do like the whole lots of windows idea, I have always enjoyed that, but as for the rest of the map, it gets very repetetive, and it's hard to tell where you are at times which is unfortunate. This map also lacks a solid layout, it's really just a boxy building, with a simple outdoor.

Detail: Kinda strange, you have some areas that are really well worked on, but some areas are need work. For example, your outside is awesome, great job there. But when you hop inside it's like... you tried by puting those plants near the window separators, but it just looks bad and out of place. You should add more random doors, and put the plant on some sort of a stand. Also, you stretched the glass texture alot >:( doesn't look good when you break it.

Gameplay:Rarr >:( Why the free guns? It takes away from gameplay a lot. But still, again I like the windows, so that makes up for it. Also, outside is quite laggy, but I guess no harm since the majority of the map is indoors.

Looks: I say this to A LOT of mappers, NEVER use pure white light in your maps, it looks awful, just take a look at the light in your room, is it white? Or is it off-yellow... unless you're in a hospital it's usually off-yellow, OR it's off-blue I can't really tell if this is perfect white, but it seems to me like it is, other than that, the map looks nice. One thing I would do is that one dark room, to keep it from looking really weird, make a light in there with a cool grey-blue color with a brightness of 5, to keep the shadows from making a light show on your walls.

Sound: Not going too much in to this, rain is too loud. But I have to say I like the transition from loud rain to almost dead interior.

Teamplay I guess teamplay is also harmed by free weapons, it's like no matter which team is losing, you always get free guns anyway, kinda lame in my opinion, but fun for others I guess.

I appreciate your detailed description.

Ambience: the rain sound it's loud for my decision. There are just 3 degree of soundscapes for rain: strong, low and very low triggered by distance from outside. But I can lower their volume level.

Design: I agree with repetitiveness, but have you ever seen a real office? Original cs_office is a kind of empty building that has no sense at all.
Offices are serious buildings..this one is a representation of a REAL office I was effectively in.

Detail: I'm planning to do something inside about those plants. But I can't put too much props there because of lag problem. With too many windows about 50 props are rendered in a frame and I have to struggle with hint/skip texture to have a good fps. Infact outside is not perfect at all with fps.

Gameplay: because of a lot of requests I'll release 2 versions of this map. One with weapons and one without :)

You are right. I will remove those trees and create some bushes.
I've put weapons on map just to give help for noob players. A lot of servers doesn't take care of this and leave noob players without money.
If one is a professional player, must only buy a deagle and just leave those weapons for noobs.
I'll take care of your suggestion: I'll post new map in a different submission with a different name: cs_newoffice_b1.

Ouch! There was a problem during compile process that failed. On saturday or sunday I'll release a newer version of cs_newoffice that:
- have new fire-ladders
- improve fps
- have a better nav_file
- fix some texture misalignments
