CP_OILRIG * Version Beta 3

Hopefully all of my changes will improve gameplay this time.

Beta 3 Changes:
- added another path from blue spawn to red's oil rig
- moved the control points
- changed the areas around CP A & B
- placed a lot of func_nobuilds
- some changes to the layout that should improve gameplay
- moved red's spawn one and two
- custom soundscape added
- HDR sky included (still not perfect but acceptable for now)
- miscellanous little optimizations

Still to do:
- improve ambient atmosphere
- gameplay tweaking
- redo hint brushes
- add area portals
- add menu photos
- add more cubemaps
- spend a little more time on the soundscape
- add more ropes
- extend 3D skybox details
- maybe redo the HDR sky
- change lighting and textures in some areas
- add details in some areas
- maybe add more custom materials
- add more ropes
- add some breakable stuff
- adjust lightmaps in some areas
- redo player observer cameras
- miscellanous little optimizations

I'm working on the new version and there will be no HL2 stuff except for the crane because actually there's no TF2 model for that. It will be dustbowl style with 3 rounds, 2 control points each. The reason for this change is just that I have so much space to fill with ideas within the new layout.

Pros: Fun layout, really feels like an oilrig. The three capture points is nice and feels like a mini-dustbowl. Nice change of environment too.
Cons: NON TF2 ASSETS! They really kill the map and destroy the mood. Thats the only reason you're not getting a 10 for design.
Improvements: Replace the non-TF2 stuff. You seem to be capable of custom textures, so try your hand at custom skins for the pipes, and custom windows.
Notes: I was thinking of making an oilrig map about a year ago. Good to see that the person that beat me to it did a good job.

Pros: Great idea, good design
Cons: Non TF2 Textures. Don't use them! They look terrible anything from CS:S or other. They just look bad.

God please make this a very clear map. Night is a bad idea. I love LOVE the idea honestly! And the map looks pretty decent. But its sooo dark :(

I totally agree with you chickens :) Beta 4 will be released in a couple of days. Basically it's finished but I still need to check some things.

The layout of A in Beta 3 is not so much fun to play so I changed it back to the Beta 2 layout but with some modifications.

I also redesigned the red interior part that leads to C and did some little modifications around C.

I switched back to b2 for time being and the battle for a is great. c wasnt too bad on b3 though i still think it can be tweaked.
b is up to you but the open space for the fights are what made the cp fights really entertaining

oartly my fault as i forgot to make a cfg to make red spawn at 8 secs and blue at 3 i thought i had but hadnt so battle for c isnt so unbalnaced as i made out earlier.

at moment i can only think of b2 and it is still unfair to blue, i think b3 is better visually as a map but just a bit of rearranging with the layout

Hey garbageman, I'd strongly consider changing how that one way door works into A. Everytime I've played your map, that door caused problems. Players would attempt to uber from there and it just made it so that particular pair would get slaughtered when their uber ran out. Another thought, building on the roof may not be a good thing. As an engineer, I love cool building spots. But everytime we've had players build on the roof - it is almost certain that the other team will not take over that point. Maybe just one roof should be buildable?
