Author's Readme/Notes Billiards Beta 1 This is the first public beta of Billiards, the new sports map for Team Fortress 2! It's a new twist on team ball-oriented game play. This is an actual game of billiards. Each team must shoot, hit, or blast their color's balls into the pockets before the other team does the same. Don't fall into the pockets! Also, be cautious of the 8-ball... it looks a bit menacing... I would like to thank a few people for without whom this map would never happen. Thanks to Hsnopi for helping me turn this into a generic CP map into an actual billiard game! Thanks to Bud Doug Lee for getting me in the right direction for the scoring mechanism! Thanks to Milky for helping me get started in mapping! Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped test, give suggestions, and critique the map from TeamFortress2Fort.com and elsewhere!

Pros: Fun. Great for full servers. Cons: Not very balanced, but since this isn't a real serious map where most bullets go to balls instead of players, it's halfway excusable. Improvements: Make it look better. A 3d skybox would be nice.

It'd be great if there were objects on the table that broke up the action and provided some cover. ctf_royal_b3 is a good example of what I have in mind (though naturally it wouldn't be that cluttered). I think the billiard balls themselves should be a lot heavier. They seem more like balloons right now in terms of physics.

I am already working on Beta 2. It will have spawn rooms, round maximums, written instructions... and MAYBE a 3d skybox of a bar. However, that may come later as I'm more worried about gameplay at this point.

Played this last night and it's a lot of fun. The physics are pretty good and it can be quite competitive. Only problems we had: it is very easy to spawn camp and a good sniper can dominate. Otherwise it was a blast. It would be really cool if it had a rats-style 3D skybox of a bar or rec room setting.

This map is extremely fun. Playing it with low grav and instant respawn the other night was a blast!

This map looks like a menace. you are definitely getting my download. btw, could you also make something similar for css as i would love to see it in css also? :)
