Author's Readme/Notes:

Here is my second map, create in 1 weeks ( 120 H ~ ) , i'm glad to give it to the tf2 community.
I am the author of dam (9.8/10 atm) and i was feeling bad with feedbacks who will makes me more work than i wish :p ( i will fix it for sure , just be patient ^^ ).
For this new one, i took real pictures from Japan and incorporate the legendary - and really complex - japanese's house to tf2. It break the classic mapcycle who take place in farm and other mine background. Some ppl will said " add this or that " , but i just underline : the engine is full , do 65530 faces of 65536 max , i can't add nothing more ( house or wall ~ ).
I really wish u will have fun on it, because i've built it with my heart, for you ;) !

About the size :
It's a copy/past of granary ( 51 sec as HWG from cp 1 to cp 5 on japan , and 1 min 5 sec from cp 1 to cp 5 ^^ ).

Very, very nice map. It's the first TF2 map I've seen that doesn't use the vanilla visual style, and yet is appealing.

Classic 5CP, but that's a strong base.

Two small things :

- it might be nice to have a visual clue to where you are. In the red "base" (CP 1&2 on the red side), having a slightly red sand/rock texture on the ground would be good (since it's already blue on the blue side), and a grey one on the central CP.

- arrows to the next CP would also be nice. It's easy not to know if you should go right or left on the CP. Maybe something light, like the shadow of an oni on the walls pointing the hand toward the next CP or something.

Edit: one other thing, I concur on the need of a slightly more developed alternate path to flank defenses.

Also, the first&last CP could be slightly more open. It's a bitch to try to capture it when there's 5 or 6 level 3 sentries inside, even with two über charge.

Pros: So refreshing after playing into mountains and mine the mine then mountains, this map is the fresh aire our servers needed.

Cons: The Gong are not making any sound when hit (everyone tried it =) )
Improvements: Maybe a third path between 4-3-2 CP since with 1 turrel you can cover both entries pretty easily

Pros: Wow, what a great map. The detailing is near perfect. I had fun playing with 6 vs 6, but could see it stalemating with a full server.
Cons: Not a TF2 theme for the purists out there. A bit too linear.
Improvements: Add some alternative routes if possible, increase time.
Notes: I love it.

After playing this I like it and it is a popular map in my server however it always ends in a stalemate after 5 minutes so it gets boring so increase round timer at start to 15 mins at least plz

could do with some more details in places and some ambient sounds like japanese music in buildings. It's a good map but the layout is too linear so nobody ever gets past the middle cp on a full server. The middle cp is also a sniper paradise, the map just becomes a massive sniper war

could do with some more paths, and more japanese style architecture to fill map, like ornate bridges over goldfish ponds and another route to get from cp 2 to 4 without getting slaughtered in middle cp

Pros: Looks good, pretty simple straightforward design.
Cons: Door sounds don't match the material IMO. Also center point buildings are labeled resupply yet they offer no supplies.
Improvements: Fix above. Some Japanese sounds would also really help to set the mood. Possibly add a bit more color to help differentiate the 2 bases.

Very VERY nice detail! The image of a Japanese building is almost exact. The 4th pic shows much effort in bringing the map to life. The only thing I don't understand is the 3rd pic with that thing in the middle. I'm not really sure what that is. But that doesn't matter that much it's still nice.

You have the basis of a very nice map, the buildings set the theme very well, the fast opening sliding doors are perfect for the style and the brushwork beams inside the houses look great, the little steam piles are also a nice touch, however some parts of the level seem a little rushed in comparison , the spawn rooms for starters look like an afterthought as far as detail goes and look fairly odd with the see-thru wire glass celilings.

The swords made out of brushes although a nice attempt just look a little blocky and ruin the look imo (wheres a model when u you need one right ? )

The brushwork in some of the other areas does not match the quality and time you have spent on houses i.e the tunnel exits and the detail in the mid cp

I would have loved the big gong to be interactive in any way - first thing i tried to do was hit it with the bat to see if it moved or made a noise - adds nothing to gameplay but it would have been a nice touch ;)

The level could use some player clips - particularly on the steps, edges of staircases, detail areas - even if its realistic that a player should get stuck there/ bounce up and down like a madman, making them flow through the level makes for better gameplay.

And of course a 3d skybox would probably help loads in setting the theme, even if its just a sparse open area with a few houses in the distance or a river, it makes the level much more believeable that rocketjumping to the top of the wall to see just sky.

I hope you take my comments as they should be taken - its a very nice level hence why i offer you my honest feedback - rather than just omg its l33t m8!

But a big congrats on making a map that has moved away from farm /industry and still looks awesome.
