EVER SINCE VALVE'S WEAPON UPDATES STARTED, THIS MAP CRASHES.
I will probably not make it work, but I'll keep this map here as a memory.
Also, I might change this into an arena map.

Hello :)
This is the first map I release, and I'm kinda excited to see what the community thinks about it.

This map is a melee-only ctf.
The 2 teams start on their own side of an arena. This arena has a wall in the middle, that stays up for 25 seconds after each capture of the intelligence. As a punishment for the team who got their flag captured, a train will run through their base, crushing the people who are in the way!

Each spawn room has a dispenser in it.
This is simply because having a resupply cabinet there would be insane, since the spawn is very close to the combat area.
A dispenser heals slowly, and the person who is low on health will have to consider whether he want to stand and wait at the dispenser, or risk dying.

Also, the scout doesn't have any weapons at all.
This is because the scout is simply too fast for a small map like this, so he has to have some drawback.

I've been through alot of playtesting on this map and I hope you'll like it :)

Cons: Cant say nothing because it's your first map. ;P

Fighting about lifts shouldn't be that much trouble really. And yes, the scout jumping over the wall is intended :)

Did you intend for scouts to be able to jump over the raised divider?

Suggestion:

Remove the spawn lifts in favor of fans that blow you up? Fighting with teamates over a lift is a right pain in the arse...:)

Thanks for the tips.
However, there IS an indication that it is melee only. When you start the map, there's a board with all you need to know about the map, including the scout thing. If people actually read it, they would know. Also, non-functional doors are there for decoration and added realism. People see that they're not supposed to use it anyway :)

It's definitely a... interesting map.

A bug that one of my players discovered was that if you are standing on top of the "divider" when it comes up, you can ride it up. If you're holding a intel while doing so, and drop it on top of the wall, the intel will hover in the air when the divider comes back down.


It's not a bug that you can get up on the wall and drop the intel. If you're up there and drops it, it stays there because valve didn't make the intel to always drop to the ground, only when you drop it yourself. Besides, doing so only ruins everything for your own team. You only make it easier for the enemy, so it's not really an exploit :)
