ATTENTION !!

This version is easier to play, less detailed, has more fps and no hdr (not used in pcws) and some tweaks to make it play better in 5on5 matches. Anyway it can be played on public ones. I'll release an HDR version once It has been tested enough.

Changes in BETA2:
-Color correction is now static and less red (so the filesize is lower).
-Clip added to the windows in the hangar and other spots.
-Reduced the number of props in the map (some people told me it was hard to play because it was too detailed).
-Blocked some spots and simplified few details to make it easier to play (there were to many spots to hide and people didn't like it in pcws).
-Changed a bit the layout so now T reach 1 to 3sec later bombsite A.
-Slightly fps improve due to the amount of props and details deleted.
-Dramatic fps improve in T's base and grave ramp.
-Ambient light is now a bit more light.
-Some cubemaps have been reduced and two deleted so the filesize is lower now.
-There is only 1 Color correction file so filesize will be like 1mb lower for this.
-Radar is now compressed so it weights 1/3 (~3mb now, ~10mb before).
-Sound effects are now generic (people didn't like the eco and sound distortion in some areas so now there is no distorsion).
-Many prop distances have been reduced and faded to improve fps on lowend PC's.
-Improved spawn points to make it easier or harder to rush in some rounds and added 8 spawn points more (40 now)

Notes:
-Best seen with Color correction + HDR + gamma 2.2 (remember to add sv_allow_color_correction 1)
-Beta test. Feedback is appreciated!
-Meant to be played for 5on5 games but has up to 40 spawn points
-Do not decompile without authorization. PM on FPSBANANA, INTERLOPERS,
MAPCORE or HL2SPAIN if you want to know how has something been done or

I think you can make a relief to your windows for exemple: windows don't stand on the same plan than the wall.
you can also make some details on walls in func_detail , like pillars , borders, anything that could break the line.


You mean ss 1 or 2? or where? maybe there I could add a bit more of detail because the fps are high. I'll see what I can do for the next version.

I'll try to reduce machine sounds also or just lower em.

Mate, respect on doing this, can clearly tell u have put lots of effort in devising the best way of tuning it into a pcw map, and i appreicate the effort gone into listing all of the detailed changes, good stuff

i still find maps odd where to much detail can kill the gameplay sometimes, odd eh, maybe its just to much to look at, u must of spent quite a while sortting through all of these fine tuning features, as i tend to do these things and i know there very time consuming and sometimes boring hehe, no offence to black_jack m8 rating this 8.5 is outragous as it really pieves me off when people rate rubbish maps on here 10/10 like that new scoutknivez map, this map however clearly shows me alot of effort has been put in, the effort alone is a 10, i dont normally rate maps but this is an exception, good stuff deh0 m8.


A great example of too much detail would be UT3, there is just too much detail, its to the point where the map has as much detail as the player skins, therefore its hard to see the players and becomes frustrating. I think thats why too much detail sometimes hinders gameplay.

Back on topic though. Great, great map deh0. played the first beta and will test this when i have time. Just 2 things i suggest for the hdr version. Lower the lighting in the tunnels and of most of the prop lights, they were blinding and the tunnel would have a better atmosphere if it was a bit darker. Also, although i love the effort you have put into the soundscape, there are too many buzzing noises, way way too many machines buzzing in my ears i found it quite annoying. other than those tiny things this map blew me away. just incredibly well thought out gameplay and style.
Incredible map and looking forward to the hdr version, im gunna watch you ;-)

As I said in beta1 lighting is oversaturated with shiny colors because this map was a lighting test and as you can notice each zone has its own colors and different lighting which also helps as a reference for players (ex: I'm at blue corridor).

About the architecture I'm agree, it's not realistic but it wasn't meant to anyway. I'm doing a more solid theme for the next map anyway.

About the details you talk about... tell me where you think are needed and don't affect the frame rate because I don't really see where.
