Author's Readme/Notes:
"That's right, it's a two-for-one special here at the ol' Tunisia workshop, no extra charge! Due to a decent number of requests about a capture the flag verision of Tunisia, I've put together two new versions of the map.

Several Wehrmacht companies have holed up inside a walled city in central Tunisia, bringing with them a small detachment of Allied prisoners. Allied forces are charged with breaching the city walls and destroying a German radio outpost and ammo dump. A prison gate on the western fringe of the city must also be blown.
Changes from beta version:
- improved optimization
- additional Allied spawn exit and route re-structuring to make that area less 'campable'
- new custom skybox and lighting scheme
- detonations at the ammo dump no longer leave so many crates intact
- additional detailing throughout the level (still more to come)
- improved clipping of out-of-bounds areas
- fixed the pain in the ass ladders out of the underground tunnels
- more cover for the Allies on the approach to the prison gate
- newer (nicer?) in-game overview map

While putting together the capture the flag version of Tunisia I decided to change the overall atmosphere of the map to differentiate the two. The CTF version has a 'thunderstorm rolling in off the Mediterranean' kind of feel to it. Since using a default skybox for this version yielded such a low-contrast environment, I compiled without HDR. As a result, the CTF version of Tunisia .bsp is 15 mb smaller than the detonation version above (50 mb vs 35 mb).
I'm not sure how the gameplay will work out, as I originally designed the map as an attack/defend level. Nevertheless, it should be fun, and the FPS should be rock-solid, even with 32 players." |
