I'm guessing they're the same thing except this one has better graphics? if you want to play hl1 just for the storyline, get hl:s because it's the same game with a better engine. if you want hl1 to play as a game (this is difficult explain...) you should get regular hl1, because it has a better online community, more attention here at FPSB, is easier to customize, and of course has many many mods.

Hl1s have some more graphics and much fun. hl1 dont have much those things on hl1s but yes hl1s have bugged that not in hl1 but people like it very much not bugged the mod ^_^ i am buggest fan of hl1 so when i see hl1s released i like it very much, after that hldms released i play it alot and also learn to make maps and give to people so more people can play and see the collections of new hldms maps. i also help lots of people to making server for hldms. now you can see there is some servers are running good. and maps too and because of some my friends and quicksilver did a great help to bring people on hldms. hl1s the best.
