Here in Brazil we buy it in some game shops for only R$ 9,90 (about U$2,90) its cheap and very cool , especially the weapons that have much customizations and the monsters are really nice,and the CD version don't need the HL1 to play (its come include in the game engine so you don't need HL1) I recommend for those who like HL1 Engine...(I mess I can't find the game FGd on the NET so I can make my own maps)

Hated Gunman, I bought it for 2$ and I still think it wasn't worth the money. Really bad game.

nah! i do NOT think so. the game is pretty fun! its cool and like all the other half life games. (don't 4 get.. the game is old...)

8/10 on that game.

Blurb

Gunman Chronicles is a futuristic first-person shooter computer game using the Half-Life game engine. It was originally planned as a total conversion for Quake; it then switched games to Quake II, followed by another switch to Half-Life, before being spotted by Valve Software and released as a stand-alone retail product in 2000. In the game you will play as Major Archer, a soldier who once left his commanding officer on a planet believing him to be dead.

The story unfolds as you discover your commanding officer, known as The General, in fact survived the battle on Banzur Prime, and was swallowed by the species known as the Xenomes. The General, feeling betrayed by his followers, decides to create a race of super-Xenomes to conquer the Human Race, and it is the player's mission to stop him.

Despite being set in a futuristic science fiction environment it was intended to have a Western-style feel to it. Notably, most of the weapons have different firing modes and some can be upgraded with add-ons: for example, the laser pistol can be fired in pulse, charge, and rapid modes, and an add-on allows the player to charge up shots or use a telescopic sight. The game also features the M.U.L.E, which is a rocket launcher with 11 different customisations.

There was a demo released for Gunman Chronicles that included levels not available in the full game. These can be added into the regular gameflow using the Gunman Chronicles Demo Addon.

No patches were ever released for Gunman, and Rewolf Software did not make any more games.
