Ok i have a question about modeling. I have been doing brush based design for so long i just assume other programs are suppost to be done the same way. This clearly doesnt seem to be the case. modeling seems to me to not have a care in the world about lining up the object edges. overlap all yuo want it seems.

my question is about the fundamental differences between mapping,(brushbased design) and modeling,(object design). what are they? and what are some principal guidelines to follow when modeling?

Ive done some modelling, not much.
If you download XSI mod tool, you can use the grid.

If you're using func_tracktrain and path_tracks, have one button with an output as OnPressed StartForward(this makes it go up), and have another one(to make the ele go down) set to StartBackwards.

That works but now I have the elevator not going all the way up or down to where the floor meets.

Edit: Never mind it was because the orgin was off. thanks sgt.

I need some help on a map I'm currently working on.

I have a elevator that starts on the middle floor then there are one floors down and one floors up.

How can I get this to work cause I can never seem to get the path_track and func_tracktrain way to work even after reading SGT's tuts.
